Families cheered and cameras flashed as nearly 600 members of the Class of 2013 recessed from F&M’s Commencement ceremony May 11. It was a jubilant scene, with proud parents squeezing close to the center aisle to catch a glimpse of their daughters and sons. Like tree blossoms and lacrosse sticks, it was a clear sign of spring at Franklin & Marshall College. High school seniors visited campus April 12 for A Closer Look, a program that showcases life at F&M for admitted students. They explored the College with maps in hand, learning about the curriculum from professors and hearing about the academic, athletic and cultural experiences of current students.
One of the joys of being a contributor to this magazine over the past five years has been discovering the wonderful diversity of paths Franklin & Marshall alumni have blazed with their liberal arts educations.
Fall on the Franklin & Marshall campus is an exceptional time. While nature is beginning its slow march toward the hibernation of winter, the pace is quickening for students and faculty, who are a mere six weeks from the end of the term.
